Instead of scratching the surface via multiple projects in different areas, would it be better to focus on one area of specialisation and gain authoritative depth and experience in understanding what might fail or work?

Therefore, if you’re a student today, make the focused effort to become an authority in your chosen field, at whatever level you’re studying currently. And if you’re an institution, find ways to help your students do that.
